Mission |

The following regulations were defined by the Foundation to encourage recently graduated Ph.D. researchers to take part in dietary culture related research and improve the international academic reputation of Chinese dietary culture by helping them produce research papers of academic value. |

Eligibility |
| |
The applicant must have received a Ph.D. degree within the last four years from a domestic public or private university, a Ministry of Education accredited independent college or an overseas university. They must have achieved exceptional academic results and are capable of conducting independent research. |

Supported Research |
| |
Topics with Chinese dietary culture as the main theme. |
| IV. |
Application Method |
| |

Evaluation |
| |
The selection of the grant recipients will be decided through a selection committee composed of academics and experts retained by the Foundation. |

Application Deadline |
| |
Applications are received before the end of each July (based on the postmark) and the evaluation process is conducted from August through to September. The list of grant recipients is announced each November.

Grant Availability |
| |
Up to three places will be made available each year. |
| VIII. |
Grant Amount |
| |
Each project will receive a grant of NT$100,000 to NT$300,000. The maximum amount may not exceed NT$300,000.
Once the application has been approved, the funds will be transferred in the month after the commencement of the project. |
| IX. |
Rights and Responsibilities |

- During the period of the project, the project leader may apply to the Foundation Library for the purchase of relevant texts. The texts must, however, be returned to the Library after use.
- Upon the completion of the project, five copies of the project's final report must be submitted to the Foundation office in the specified format.
- The copyright of the project's final report belongs to the author. If the author wishes to self-publish the report, the publication must be indicated with the statement "This study was completed with the support a grant from the Foundation of Chinese Dietary Culture". The Foundation will retain the right of first refusal.
- The grant recipient may apply to the Foundation for a 6-month extension two months before the project's final deadline if there are any extenuating circumstances. Only one extension is permitted and no further budget grants will be made available.
- The Chinese Dietary Culture journal published by the Foundation will have the first right of refusal for publishing any project related papers authored by the project leader, subject to the peer review process.
- Once the project has been completed, the grant recipient is obliged to make one presentation for the Foundations' academic seminars.

These grant regulations and their amendments take effect after they are announced by the Foundation's Board of Directors. |
